Samsung believed to be working on a 18.4 inch tablet/monitor

Samsung Galaxy S7 - Snapdragon 820

We’ve heard of Samsung’s ambitions to release a massive tablet for the mobile industry. A new report claims that this is indeed real and that the Korean manufacturer is developing a large 18.4 inch #Android Lollipop based tablet. Obviously, there wouldn’t be a big market for a device like this, but Samsung is always known for its ability to tap into niche market segments.

It is said that the tablet will carry the model number SM-T670 and will be just 11.9mm thick. Other dimensions include a width of 451.8mm wide and length of 275.8mm. The hardware specs sheet is less than flattering though, as the report mentions that Samsung would use a LCD panel here with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. This large sized tablet is also expected to be packing an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2.1-megapixel front camera, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage (expandable), an octa core Exynos 7580 64-bit SoC, Android 5.1 Lollipop and a miserly 5,700 mAh battery.

The battery capacity on the tablet shouldn’t be a massive concern as it’s not meant to be easily portable, although we’re guessing Samsung will keep the weight at bay. There are no precise details on a release date as of yet, but we’re guessing the company will want to have this in the markets in time for the holiday season.
