No Sense 7 update for the HTC One M8 until Android M

HTC One M8

Waiting to see the HTC Sense 7 UI on your One M8 smartphone? Well, you might have to keep waiting as HTC’s Mo Versi has officially confirmed on Twitter that the update will not be sent out to the 2014 flagship until Android M is available.

He mentioned that Sense 7 for the HTC One M8 will be bundled with Android M, essentially asking the customers to wait until the end of the year to get it on their handset. This seems unfair for owners of last year’s flagship as one would expect the latest software to be sent out to flagship devices, but clearly HTC doesn’t think it’s worth the effort.

Considering the horrid time that HTC is seeing in the mobile industry, we won’t be surprised if its poor showing continues over the coming months. Incidents like these certainly don’t help the company’s cause as the customers and fans are pretty much the only things that are keeping the company afloat right now. What do you think?
