LG working on a new smartwatch codenamed the ‘Nemo’: Rumor

LG Watch Urbane

Korean manufacturer #LG is supposedly prepping the release of a new #AndroidWear #smartwatch, known as the Nemo. It is said that this wearable will receive Nexus like status, which doesn’t make much sense as all Android Wear smartwatches right now are kind of like Nexus devices.

The report further mentions that this wearable will have a display resolution of 480 × 480, which should offer excellent pixel density on a 1.3 inch panel. The codename of the smartwatch is particularly interesting as only Nexus devices are named after aquatic animals, which explains why there’s talk of this being a Nexus smartwatch.

There’s no word on when this wearable will be unveiled, but we’ll keep our ears and eyes peeled for any information on the LG Nemo. It could just as likely be another G Watch R or Watch Urbane like smartwatch, so we shouldn’t see anything different in terms of software. Google is expected to release the next major version of Android Wear post the release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
