Note 4 Facebook Constantly Freezes
Problem: Facebook constantly freezes up. I’ve tried uninstalling and then reinstalling, tried rebooting my phone, clearing the cache and nothing seems to work. It’s fine for a bit then locks up.
Related Problem: When I open a website that is in Facebook, either when in the website or have clicking out of website, and I go back to Facebook, Facebook will freeze up and I have to close out of all apps. This happens all the time and has since I have gotten my phone. I have had it about 3 months.
Related Problem: While in FB and to look at news, watch a video etc. The screen will freeze and only way to unlock is either to turn off or dim the screen several times before you then get an error message that FB working and hit OK to reset. Once you hit OK it seems to work for a while. Then it will crash again later.
Related Problem: This happens several times a day. When I am on Facebook, my phone freezes up and won’t do anything. I have to restart it to use it again. This only happens on Fb. It is very frustrating! This has been happening for months.
Solution: When your Facebook app freezes constantly the best thing to do is to first is to clear the cache and data of the app. This deletes the temporary data stored by the app which may be causing the problem. Take note that in doing this you will have to log in to your account again.
If the problem still occurs then proceed with wiping the cache partition of your phone. This clears out the temporary data stored in your phone system which could be causing the problem.
Uninstall the Facebook app and download a fresh version from the Google Play Store.
Does your phone happen to have a microSD card? If you are using one then take it out and observe if the Facebook app crashes. If it doesn’t crash then the car may be causing the problem. If the card has some bad sectors and Facebook stores data in it then it is very likely to freeze when accessing this data. I suggest you get a new microSD card preferable one with a class 10 rating.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I suggest you back up your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the factory reset has finished install only the Facebook app then observe if the issue still occurs.
Note 4 No Push Notifications
Problem: Several months ago I stopped receiving what I call Push Notifications. They may be something else and that might be my issues. Anyway, my gmail, instagram, facebook, facebook page manager, and twitter. I stopped receiving notice that I have new mail, new anything in any of these apps. I’ve tried to clear the cache/force stop/clear data for gmail, delete and reinstall a gmail account, update notification settings via desktop and phone for facebook, and checked/unchecked Sync, auto sync. I’m to the point of getting a new phone (I’ve had this one for 2+ years) because I use this for business. Any help is appreciated!! Thank you!
Solution: Since this issue affects several apps then this may already be caused by a glitch in your phone software. What I suggest you do first is to wipe the cache partition of your phone. This deletes the temporary data in your device which may be corrupt and is causing the problem.
If the issue still persists then proceed with doing a factory reset. Make sure to back up your phone data before doing this procedure since it will delete everything in your phone and bring it back to its original condition when it was new.
Note 4 Overheats When Playing Games
Problem: It constantly overheats if I use it for anything longer than 20 minutes maybe. My Clean Master App, says overheating please fix, with temps as high as 156°. It happens mostly when playing games. It says “Nascar app constantly restarting”. CM has a cool down function too fix it but I shouldn’t need it. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!
Solution: There are different that you need to check to determine why your phone is overheating. Since this issue mostly happens when you play games I suggest you replace your microSD card first with a new one, preferably one with a class 10 rating. The reason for this is that if your microSD card is faulty then your phone will struggle to get data from it which will often lead to this overheating issue.
Sometimes a corrupt data also leads to overheating problems in which case you need to wipe the cache partition of your phone. This deletes the temporary data in your phone and may resolve the issue.
Do you have several apps installed in your phone? If you do then they may be running in the background while you are plating some games. When these apps run in the background they use up your phone resources, especially your processor which is where most of the heat is generated. Try to uninstall the apps that you don’t use constantly or make sure that they are not running in the background.
Lastly, you need to check your phone services and turn off those that you don’t need when playing a game. This may include Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, NFC, mobile data, etc.
