Here’s how a user managed to manipulate the OnePlus 2 invite wait list

Using a script used to create fake emails, a user named Jake Cooper managed to climb up the OnePlus 2 invite list by several hundred thousand spots. This script would use these newly created emails to use the referral code, which would in turn give him a better chance of getting the handset. This aspect of OnePlus’ invite system is what is said to have fueled Cooper’s move to take the fight to OnePlus.

OnePlus offers incentives for users who refer others, which means that those who simply register and wait for their turn have less chances of getting their device in time compared to someone who refers 3-4 people. It will be interesting to see how OnePlus responds to this and if there will be any changes made to the policies.
