Google announces one-time $100 phone replacement program for the Project Fi Nexus 6

Nexus 6

If you recently bought the Nexus 6 through Google’s Project Fi page, you are now eligible for a one-time $100 phone replacement plan. This essentially means that within 12 months of the purchase, you can get your phone replaced for just $100. Sure, this isn’t like a free replacement, but considering that you’re getting a brand new device for a fraction of the cost, this promotion is worth a look.

Some manufacturers are offering free one-time screen replacements for accidental damages, but this is slightly different from that. From what we can understand, this deal is only applicable to devices bought via Google’s Project Fi page. So even if you bought the Nexus 6 from Google before that, you probably won’t be eligible.

This is slightly unfair for non-Project Fi owners as Google seems to be offering an added incentive for Fi users. This replacement program is only valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, so make sure you get your free replacement before the end of the warranty period sometime early next year.
