Amazon ditches Free App of the Day promotion with the arrival of Underground

Amazon Underground

The #Amazon Appstore has now seen the introduction of a new section called #Underground, where the apps are “actually free”. This is essentially an area where all the apps listed are free of cost and don’t ask customers to shell out money, be it in the form of in-app purchases or other buyable content.

This section can be spotted on the Amazon Appstore app starting right away. The bad news however is that this will replace the popular ‘Free App of the Day’ promotion that was being run by Amazon for quite some time. But customers can seek solace in the fact that there’s a dedicated place for all the free apps that are available at a given time.

Users can check back periodically to see if any new applications have been added to the list. In Amazon’s words, the company offers over $10,000 worth of apps for free here, so it’s certainly worth a look so that you can download all the free apps that you can in one go. Available content include Goat Simulator, PhotoSuite 4, Angry Birds Slingshot Stella and many more.
