Sprint sending out Android 5.1 update for the Galaxy Note edge

Galaxy Note edge

Sprint has officially begun sending out the Android 5.1 update for the Samsung Galaxy Note edge handset starting today. The carrier has also sent out a minor update to the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge smartphones, which remain on Android 5.1 thanks to an update which was sent out recently.

The Galaxy Note edge was launched alongside the Galaxy Note 4 last year and has received very little love from the customers given its low key stature. But it’s quite a significant device for the company as it was the first to pack a curved edge (after the Galaxy Round). The Galaxy Note edge comes with the software version N915PVPU4COFE after the update and the customary Android 5.1 related changes on board.

The update should introduce features like Device Protection, while also introducing carrier based features like HD Voice, improved Quick Settings toggles among other things. The update has started rolling out simultaneously for all three devices and should start reaching your devices anytime soon now.
