Moto Maker was originally shown off with the 2013 Moto X and has since been utilized with the next gen model as well as the Moto 360 smartwatch. A new leak now tells us that Motorola could soon bring these capabilities to the Moto G as well, perhaps starting with the 2015 model which is slated for an arrival soon.
The company is yet to mention as to when the 2nd gen Moto G will be officially shown off, so the surprise is still intact. Some reports have claimed that Motorola will unveil the Moto G and the Moto X (2015) in August, so it’s possible that we might get to hear all about it by next month.
Given what we’ve seen from leaked renders of the 2015 Moto G, bringing Moto Maker customization to the device does make sense. The renders have shown that the handset will have an extended accent on the back stretching from the camera sensor to the iconic Motorola logo. This new leak shows how the accents can be offered in multiple colors, while there are a myriad of back panel options as well.
It will be interesting to see if this will be a U.S./UK only affair or if Motorola will extend the features to other parts of the world as well. What do you make of this leak.
