AT&T and U.S. Cellular sending out Android 5.1 for the 2nd gen Moto X

Moto X

Android 5.1 has finally begun rolling out to the AT&T and U.S. Cellular version of the 2014 Moto X, much to the relief of the customers. Unlocked and most other carrier variants of the Moto X have already received the update, so this was long overdue.

The information was given away by David Schuster of Motorola, so it’s coming from a very credible source. As is the nature of these updates, we must mention that Android 5.1 might take some time to begin rolling out on all devices, so we suggest you remain patient even if you don’t see it on your handset right away.

Android 5.1 brings a couple of nifty changes to the Moto X, although the user interface will remain unchanged for the most part. But expect performance to be boosted significantly and support for some new Motorola features on board as well. Since most Motorola apps are available on the Play Store, they won’t function differently after a system update.

Already seeing the update? Sound off in the comments box below.
