Two new Android Auto head units from Kenwood now heading out to retail outlets

Kenwood Android Auto

The DDX9902S ($749.99) and DDX9702S ($699.99) Android Auto head units have officially started making their way to the retailers, which means you will soon be able to buy them for your vehicle. Sure, they’re slightly on the expensive side, but it’s not a bad deal, considering that they’re the only alternatives available at the moment to Pioneer’s head units which were made available a few months ago.

These third party head units make sure that you can get Android Auto installed on your vehicle right away, even if it’s relatively old. However, for Android Auto, it’s imperative that you have a smartphone running on at least Android 5.0 or higher, so as long as you have that covered, getting these head units shouldn’t be a concern.

The DDX9902S is compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, so it’s pretty versatile in its functionality. This unit is listed on Amazon right now, but isn’t available for purchase at the moment. The cheaper DDX9702S model however can be ordered and picked up from Best Buy as the retailer doesn’t offer shipping at this point.
