Sprint sending out Android 5.1 for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge

Galaxy S6

Sprint has just begun the rollout of the Android 5.1 update for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. The update comes bundled with all the stock Android related changes, along with some fixes from Samsung as well as the carrier, so there’s plenty to look forward to for the users.

As usual, customers are recommended to have at least 50% battery life on their devices, just to be on the safer side. Post the update, the Galaxy S6 will get on the software version G920PVPU2B0F7 while the Galaxy S6 Edge will get on G925PVPU2B0F7. The update is about 563.18MB in size, so it is recommended that you connect your device to an unlimited WiFi network so that the smartphone doesn’t eat up all your cellular data.

The update brings factory data reset protection and a couple of other bug fixes to the table as well, so you will find this to be more than just a bug fixing update.
