Samsung supposedly readying Android 5.1.1 for the Galaxy S5

Galaxy S5

It’s no secret that all OEMs are currently developing Android 5.1.1 ROMs for their smartphones and tablets, with Samsung being one of them. We saw the T-Mobile version of the Galaxy S6 getting the update recently and it seems like the Galaxy S5 is the next in line to get it. There’s no clarification on whether this will be Android 5.1.1, but it goes without saying that this is the update that Samsung has in mind for the 2014 flagship.

There won’t be any new features on board here as Android 5.1 is mostly a bug fixing patch. Although previous reports have argued that Samsung will have some new features with the update, we can’t say anything for sure just yet.

Given that the update is currently being tested, it might take a while to appear on devices, so don’t hold your breath if you own the device. The Galaxy S5 wasn’t the company’s most popular flagship, but it’s good to see that the company is ready with the latest updates for the handset.
