Google axes food sharing app Tablescape

Google introduced the Tablescape app on Android recently to bring food related photos to the world. This also had a discovery feature which would let you look for new food items that are being shared across the globe.

The testers of the app have now received an email stating that Tablescape has been officially shut down. The mail said mentioned that the company had decided to invest its resources into other projects. That being said, Google hasn’t completely given up hopes for something in the same genre. The company said –  “this doesn’t mean we’re giving up on food photography, [and] you may see the influence of Tablescape in future apps.”

The contents that were shared on Google Tablescape will still live on Google+, so you don’t have to worry about all those pictures you shared on the social platform. Luckily for Google, Tablescape was just a beta project and only available to a handful of people in the testing phase. So the company can go on and focus on other projects without worrying too much about the closure of this project.
