The Android 5.1.1 update for the Moto X has been in testing for a week or so now. The good news is that the company has finally begun the rollout of the update for both the 1st and 2nd gen Moto X models. The update introduces a couple of handy features, mostly pertaining to stock Android, while also making some changes to the Motorola specific features.
In its short summary, the company mentions that the update introduces the ability to get better control over notifications and stability improvements, which is pretty much the case with any update really. It goes without saying that the Pure Edition Moto X is the first to get the update, so if you own one of those, the chances are that the update has already hit your smartphone.
Here’s what Motorola had to say in its official release – “We are excited to announce a new software update for Moto X (2nd Gen.) by Motorola. This update brings Android™ 5.1 Lollipop to your phone along with other improvements. Android™ 5.1 Lollipop improves stability and provides better control over notifications.”
