Android 5.1.1 now being sent out to the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge

Galaxy S6 - Galaxy S6 Edge

We heard earlier last week that the Android 5.1.1 update was being tested for the Galaxy Note 4Samsung has now begun the rollout of the update for the Galaxy S6 as well as the Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones. It is said that the handsets will receive the update to the latest version of Android anytime now, with the T-Mobile USA versions getting it first.

Included in the update is a new parallax effect in the stock wallpaper, which gives you a cool 3D effect. There’s also going to be some camera related tweaks, mainly to the exposure settings which is now a lot simpler than before. You can also remove the S Finder and Quick Connect buttons from the drop down notifications tray, which is a minor feature but a valuable one nonetheless.

The update is a massive 635MB in size, which means you might have to be on WiFi and ensure there’s ample battery on the device before going ahead with the download. Are you seeing the update on your T-Mobile branded Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge? Sound off below.
