Facebook teased the arrival of the video call feature for Messenger users not too long ago. The company has now pushed an update globally which enables this feature for all app users. The feature works seamlessly between Facebook contacts and functions exactly the same way as a voice call, but with video instead.
While the update is believed to have been issued worldwide, it is said that users in Bahrain, Egypt, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates are not seeing it yet, although Facebook hasn’t confirmed this as of now.
So if you didn’t have the video calling feature on Messenger before, make sure you’re on the lookout for an update which should bring this feature along. Given the kind of user base enjoyed by Facebook, a feature like video calling could go a long way in getting users more involved with its standalone IM application.
Have you seen the video call option on Messenger yet? Sound off below.
