T-Mobile confirms the testing of Lollipop for the Sony Xperia Z3 and the Z1s

Sony Xperia Z3

Two of T-Mobile’s 2014 Sony flagships, the Xperia Z1s (C6916) and the Xperia Z3 (D6616) have been revealed to be receiving the Android 5.0 update soon with the confirmation coming straight from the carrier. T-Mobile didn’t give out an estimated time of arrival however, so customers might have to play the waiting game for a while longer.

It is said that Xperia Z3 users will see support for the 700 MHz LTE Band 12 frequencies with the update, which is very good news for customers that are covered with these frequencies. Android 5.0 Lollipop brings forth a myriad of changes, especially for those jumping from older versions of Android. You can expect some changes in the way the UI behaves combined with some of Sony’s custom UI tweaks.

The update could take anytime between a week to a month to rollout, so users are advised to remain patient. Do you own a T-Mobile Xperia Z1s or the Xperia Z3? Let us know.
