Samsung’s Gear Live wearable was one of the first Android Wear smartwatches to break cover in the market, along with the LG G Watch. While the latter is still going strong in the markets, the Gear Live has quietly exited the Play Store, with no signs of its return.
The Samsung smartwatch has always maintained a low profile among the Android Wear crowd, especially from within Samsung as the company was marketing its Gear S and other Tizen based wearables. The Korean manufacturer is rumored to launch a new smartwatch called Gear A later this year, which also based on Tizen, so it’s safe to say that Samsung has sworn off Android Wear for the foreseeable future.
Although the Gear Live has gone away from the Google Store, it can still be purchased from third party retailers like Amazon, Best Buy and eBay. This might be the right time to get the Samsung wearable on the cheap before it goes out of stock completely.
