The 2015 Moto X is still some distance away from launch. And now, a Motorola insider has managed to give us an early insight of the hardware of the company’s upcoming flagship.
If this leaked hardware specs sheet is anything to go by, the 2015 Moto X will be the most powerful flagship to come out of Motorola’s sheds. The specs sheet was sent to a website by an alleged insider, so its authenticity cannot be confirmed as of yet. Motorola is yet to make anything official, so we’re taking this with a pinch of salt for the time being. The company has however mentioned that the Moto X will launch by August or September this year, which makes sense as the company follows a one year refresh cycle for its devices.
The leak suggests that Motorola will use a 5.2 inch Quad HD display, a 16-megapixel camera on the back, a 5-megapixel camera, the octa core Snapdragon 808 chipset, 4GB of RAM, 32/64GB of internal storage, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and a 3,280 mAh battery.
It is interesting that the smartphone is using a Snapdragon 808 chipset instead of Snapdragon 810. But it’s an understandable omission given that reports have shown the Snapdragon 810 to be facing overheating related issues.
