Samsung Kies won’t be compatible with the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge

Samsung Smart Switch

The Samsung Kies software which has long been the go-to software for Samsung users, will not be compatible with the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge, the company’s sites mentions. It is said that these two flagships will instead use the Samsung Smart Switch software.

Smart Switch software is available for your desktop while there’s a mobile app as well, which makes the transfer of data that much easier for the customers. For those worried about using the new app, you will be pleased to know that Smart Switch looks and functions exactly like Kies.

Smart Switch will also be used to pull updates manually for your Galaxy S6 or the Galaxy S6 Edge. This is something that Kies is popular for, but it seems like Samsung wants to shift to the new software and reduce dependency on Kies altogether. So if you’ve got a Galaxy S6 or the Galaxy S6 Edge, you will probably never see Kies as all the work will be done by the Smart Switch application.

Do you welcome this new change?
