Google sending out new Trusted Voice feature to some Android devices

Google Android Trusted Voice

Google is supposedly looking to add more options to unlock your device according to a new report. It is said that some Android users are now receiving a new “Trusted Voice” feature, which is quite similar to face unlock but instead of requiring your face, it relies on your voice.

It is said that the users have to utter the keywords, “Ok Google” to unlock the device. This feature is being spotted by some users under the Smart Lock feature which can be found from the Security settings.

Smart Lock can only be enabled if you setup a unlock pattern or PIN for your device. Beyond this you can select trusted devices like smartwatches as well as trusted face and trusted location. So the addition of something like trusted voice goes well with the list of unlocking options that are already present on stock Android.

Google seems to be testing out the feature to a limited bunch of users right now, but it shouldn’t be long before a wider rollout is started.
