Google releases Android 5.1.1 factory image for the Nexus Player

Nexus Player - Android 5.1.1

Google recently started sending out the Android 5.1 update to devices. And now, Google has published the Android 5.1.1 factory image for the Nexus Player, which is the company’s recently launched home set-top-box.

The factory image is available for download and install manually, although we expect Google to start sending out the update to users subsequently. It’s not clear at this point if the update is limited to the Nexus Player, but it seems like Google will eventually send out the update to the Nexus smartphones and tablets as well.

There’s not much in the form of a changelog at the moment, so we can’t speak about the changes on board here. Android 5.1 introduced some new features compared to Android 5.0, but Android 5.1.1 might merely be a bug fixing patch from Google. You can grab the official factory image for this new update from the link below.
