AT&T finally sending out Android 5.0 for the Galaxy S5

Galaxy S5

AT&T shocked its customers yesterday as it began the Android 5.0.1 update rollout for the Samsung Galaxy S4 yesterday. Customers of the Galaxy S5 felt left out obviously, but thankfully the carrier hasn’t made them wait for long with the 2014 Samsung flagship now getting the update as well.

This means that AT&T has finished the update rollout for most of Samsung’s high end devices now with the 2013 and 2014 flagships being covered. The update might not arrive instantaneously on all devices, so don’t lose hope if you’re not seeing it right away.

The Lollipop update on the Galaxy S5 brings identical changes as the Galaxy Note 4, but without the S-Pen customizations. There won’t be a lot of Material Design elements on show here as Samsung is using a heavy TouchWiz UI layer, but you’ll find some of the familiar Android 5.0 associated changes on board.

Are you seeing the update on your AT&T Galaxy S5 yet? Sound off below.
