Verizon Nexus 6 launching tomorrow with Android 5.1

Motorola Nexus 6

The Nexus 6 was expected to be announced tomorrow on the 12th of March according to a handful of leaks. The carrier has now confirmed this by mentioning that the device will be available for purchase starting tomorrow. Interestingly, the handset will be available with Android 5.1 out of the box, while the unlocked and other carrier variants of the smartphone are yet to get the update.

Just as expected, it seems like the update will be exclusive to Verizon’s version of the handset. The carrier is shipping the device with the VoLTE based Advanced Voice Calling 1.0 feature, which is good news for prospective buyers.

The Verizon Nexus 6 can be yours for $249.99 on contract or $27.08 per month on the Edge installment plan. The off contract pricing translates to $649.92, which is the same price as the 32GB Nexus 6 that is sold through other retailers. Unfortunately, the Nexus 6 on Verizon is expected to have a logo on the back, although the carrier hasn’t confirmed this yet.

Are you looking forward to getting the Verizon Nexus 6? Let us know below.
