Rumored memory leak bug on Android 5.1 has been reportedly fixed internally

Android 5.1

Android 5.0 Lollipop has been visually pleasing for the customers. However, this version of Android wasn’t without its problems. Customers have complained about RAM drain issues, causing apps to force close and launchers to restart. Google was expected to fix this with the Android 5.1 update which has only recently started making its way to Nexus devices. However, some users are still believed to be seeing this issue on their smartphones and tablets.

But thankfully, Google’s bug tracker page mentions that the issue has been fixed internally and has received the Future Releases tag which doesn’t provide the exact timeframe of an update rollout, but tells us that the issue has been successfully resolved.

It could take some time for Google to bring this update to fruition with Android 5.1 already going live. Perhaps we can expect something along the lines of Android 5.1.1 to fix this particular bug.

Are you a user of Android 5.1 Lollipop? Have you seen any memory drain issues? Let us know below.
