Nexus 6 users on AT&T will now start seeing the Android 5.1 update, a report says. The build number changes to LMY47D, which is the same as other Android 5.1 builds (except for the Verizon Nexus 6 LMY47E). The update will finally bring all the changes that were initially discussed in multiple posts, including the ability to adjust system volume while controlling the media volume and some nifty Quick Settings shortcuts to save time.
However, Android 5.1 has reportedly not fixed the memory leak which was said to be plaguing Android 5.0 devices. Although Google is believed to have fixed this issue internally. If you own the Nexus 6 with an AT&T SIM enabled, the update should be hitting your devices anytime now.
The Nexus 6 is not the first to get the Android 5.1 update after Google’s budget lineup of Android One phones got the update a couple of months ago in Indonesia. The update doesn’t bring a lot of visual changes, but certainly brings some much needed changes to the fore.
