New video shows us exactly how fast the Nexus 6 can charge using Quick Charge 2.0

Qualcomm’s integrated Quick Charge feature on its mobile SoCs allows for devices to be charged quicker than usual. The company uses the updated Quick Charge 2.0 standard on the Motorola Nexus 6 and all Snapdragon 805 running chipsets. And to demonstrate exactly how quickly this can charge your phone, the company has posted a new video which shows what the technology can do.

A total of three Nexus 6 units are used for this demonstration, with one using a 5 volts/1 amp charger while the other uses a 5 volts/2 amps charger. The third one on the other hand is Motorola’s Turbo Charger which makes use of the Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 feature.

The video runs through how quickly the three devices are charged, with the Turbo Charger doing its magic. Ultimately, it is revealed that the device with the Turbo Charger had brought in 50% of the battery back while the 5 volts/1 amp unit had just charged up by 22%. The 5 volts/2 amps charger on the other hand was slightly better at 32%, but still nowhere close to the Turbo charger.

Luckily for users of the Nexus 6, Motorola offers the Turbo Charger by default, so they don’t have to wonder what their lives would be like with a slower charger.
