Google planning to bring Android 5.1 to Nexus devices this week

Android 5.1

According to a new report, the Android 5.1 update will be rolled out to the Nexus devices as early as this week. There’s no confirmation of this yet, but some insider information accessed by the founder of Android Police suggests that Google’s finest devices will finally get the update in a few days from now, barring any unforeseen delays.

Android 5.1 was initially spotted on Android One devices in Indonesia, which frankly took us a bit by surprise. We haven’t heard much about the update from Google, but we’re guessing there will be more details to follow this week.

It is possible that the likes of the Nexus 7 will be the first to get the update, as Google usually updates the WiFi versions of its tablets first, followed by the handsets and then finally the cellular tablets. We can’t tell for sure if this is legitimate information, but if the update does start rolling out, we’ll make sure you’re the first to know.
