Exynos powered Galaxy Note 4 gets support for the Gear VR with the Lollipop update

Samsung Gear VR

The Samsung Gear VR was only compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 at launch. However, the Galaxy Note 4 with an Exynos chipset was still missing this feature for some reason. Well, that has been fixed now with Samsung sending out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the smartphone, thus bringing support for this Oculus powered virtual reality headset.

The Gear VR is fairly limited in its availability, so not everybody with a Galaxy Note 4 will be able to use the headset. That being said, it’s always good to know that your device is ready for when the headset eventually makes its way there.

Samsung is heavily pushing Gear VR and offering some exclusive content for the users. It already has rivals in the industry with the HTC RE Vive and the LG VR headset for the G3 smartphone. Each of them have their own distinguishing factor, but Samsung can take pride in the fact that it is partnering with one of the first companies to break into the VR scene.
