WhatsApp voice calling now accessible for all

Some users claimed that they were seeing the voice calling feature on WhatsApp. It was later discovered that this was only being sent out to a handful of users. Well those days are now behind us as users all over the world are seemingly able to make voice calls using WhatsApp.

There are a few prerequisites to get this feature though. Firstly, you need to be on the latest version of WhatsApp, which as of now is 2.11.531. However, it is claimed that the feature is also supported on 2.11.528. Secondly, you will need a smartphone running on Android 5.0 Lollipop or Android 4.4 KitKat to make use of this feature. So you’re out of luck if your smartphone is running an older version of Android.

It is being said that people who have the call feature enabled will have to send their contacts a missed call for them to get this feature. So if you know somebody who has the WhatsApp calling feature enabled, make sure you ask them to call you through the app.

Are you seeing the feature yet? Make sure you let us know.
