A new report suggests that Verizon is currently rolling out the Android 5.0.1 update for its version of the LG G3. It is said that the update introduces the software version VS98523A, so make sure you’re on the lookout for an update if you own LG’s premier flagship. A user on Google+ even has a screenshot for proof, so the rollout appears to be legitimate.
The update will carry all the bells and whistles of Android 5.0, including Material Design, Project Volta and improved notifications management. Of course, LG will have some of its software tweaks on board as well, so don’t expect to get a stock Android experience after the update.
Bear in mind that the update could be rolling out gradually, so it might take a while to appear on all devices. If you’re impatient, you can head over to the Settings and check for an update manually. Verizon recommends that your device has at least 50% of battery left and a WiFi connection to ensure the update process doesn’t eat into your data cap.
