Verizon HTC One M8 getting Android 5.0 update in early March

HTC One M8 - VZW Lollipop

HTC has already begun the rollout of Android 5.0 for the developer edition and unlocked models of the One M8 with the likes of T-Mobile and Sprint also sending out the update to their variants.

A new revelation now tells us that America’s top carrier, Verizon Wireless will start the approval process of the update in the first week of March. Beyond that, it could take a week or two for the update to officially start hitting devices.

HTC has been way off its original goal of sending out the coveted Lollipop update to devices within 90 days of its release. But it’s good to see that the update roll out is finally picking up pace.

The Lollipop update on the One M8 will bring some notable changes to the system, but the UI will remain mostly unchanged as HTC reserves that privilege for the Sense UI upgrade. Even without a lot of changes from HTC, users will be able to see a revamped notifications tray, lock screen notifications and some other Material Design elements on the handset.
