T-Mobile Galaxy S5 now receiving the Android 5.0 update

Galaxy S5 - T-Mobile Android 5.0

A couple of days ago, we mentioned how T-Mobile could be preparing for the launch of the Android 5.0 update this week. And it seems like the customers didn’t have to wait long as the update is already believed to be rolling out to the devices.

It is believed to be massive at 900MB, so make sure there’s some free space on your device before you proceed with the installation. Although Android 5.0 is only about 400MB in size, the inclusion of TouchWiz features adds to the bulk of the update.

Android 5.0 should bring some familiar changes to the fore, including some Material Design elements. You might be disappointed if you’re looking for a stock Android like experience here. But reports have suggested that Samsung will completely revamp the TouchWiz UI with the Galaxy S6, so there is a silver lining to this.

As usual, the update notification might take some time to pop up on your device, so don’t lose hope if the notification hasn’t arrived yet. If you’re already one of the lucky bunch to have received the update, make sure you let us know in the comments below.
