According to a new rumor, the Meizu MX5 could be the most powerful Android camera-phone yet with its 41-megapixel camera sensor. The smartphone will most likely be announced at the MWC event next week, which is an excellent platform for device announcements.
Tipsters claim that the smartphone will also feature a 5.5 inch 2K resolution display, a 64-bit octa core MediaTek MT6795 chipset and 4GB of RAM. Other hardware specs of the smartphone are currently not available, but given that the MWC event is next week, that shouldn’t stay a secret for long.
It will be interesting to see how Android will be tailored to make use of the 41-megapixel camera on the handset. We’ve seen large sized camera sensors previously used on the Nokia 808 Pureview (Symbian) and Nokia Lumia 1020 (Windows Phone), so this will be a first for Android if the rumors materialize.
Although Meizu’s presence is focused primarily towards China, the manufacturer has shown willingness to expand its products to global markets. Will you be interested in a 41-megapixel camera-phone from Meizu?
