Huawei could be planning to launch an LTE smartwatch at the MWC

Huawei MWC LTE Smartwatch

A new report suggests that Chinese manufacturer Huawei could be looking to launch a new smartwatch at the MWC event early next month with an LTE chip on board. The company’s teaser above is a clear jibe at Samsung’s “What is Next” teaser which was issued for the Galaxy S6. We can see a silhouette of a smartwatch here with a curved display, but not much is revealed apart from that.

The wearable could compete with the Samsung Gear S in the market which also features cellular connectivity. Wearables have evolved dramatically over the past year or so. With the first Android Wear smartwatch launching less than a year ago, we’ve already seen a myriad of wearables breaking cover since then.

It’s not known if the Huawei wearable will come with Android Wear or a custom OS, like the rumored HTC and ASUS wearables. Would you be interested in a cellular smartwatch from Huawei? Sound off in the comments section below.
