HTC has seen moderate success in 2014 with the launch of the One M8 and the Nexus 9 tablet. Although the company has launched innumerable smartphones over the past year, the Nexus 9 tablet took the market by surprise and also hinted that there’s more to come from the Taiwanese manufacturer.
A new report now claims that HTC could be looking to launch a new 8-9 inch tablet later this year, based on the Nexus 9. Renowned leakster Upleaks claims that this tablet will have dimensions similar to the Nexus 9 and will even feature some of the same hardware.
Upleaks further claims that the tablet will not go official in Q1 2015, so we might have to wait until later in the year to see this tablet reaching the markets.
We’ve heard rumors about this tablet on several occasions, so it’s not exactly a surprise to hear about it now. Considering that the Nexus 9 is only available in select markets, it might not be a bad idea from HTC to launch a similar tablet in global markets. Since the software here will be developed by HTC, we’re guessing it will feature a new tablet version of the Sense UI.
