ASUS launches a new Android 5.0 tablet called the FonePad FE375CL

ASUS FonePad FE375CL

Popular Taiwanese OEM, ASUS has just launched the FonePad FE375CL tablet in its home country. A budget ranged 7 inch tablet usually won’t make the news, but this one’s an exception because it is shown to be running Android 5.0 out of the box. As of now, this version of Android is running on very few tablets including the Google Nexus series, so this is quite an important feature.

The tablet has a 7 inch 1280 x 800 resolution display, a 1.3 GHz Intel Atom Z3530 processor, 4G LTE support, 8/16GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot, 2GB of RAM, a SIM card slot and a 3,950 mAh battery, which doesn’t seem sufficient for a tablet.

The FonePad FE375CL has been priced at NT$7,990 ($253), which puts it in the budget segment. Although the device is only available in Taiwan at the moment, we won’t be surprised to find the device making its way to the North American markets, especially given the hardware on board. We’ll keep an eye out for any word on a global release of this Android 5.0 powered tablet.
