ASUS announces new 9,600 mAh power bank

ASUS ZenPower

Taiwanese manufacturer ASUS has just revealed the ZenPower 9,600 mAh external battery pack for smartphones and tablets. The device has been launched in the company’s home region, although we expect more markets to get it subsequently.

Despite its capacity, the batter pack is just 18 mm thick and weighs a little over 200 grams, making it easy to carry around in your pocket or bags when you travel. Users can plug in their devices through the full sized USB port (5V/2.4V). There’s also a micro USB port to charge the power bank. The four LED lights on the battery gives users a reading of the battery life.

The device makes use of three 3,200 mAh batteries inside, which add up to 9,600 mAh. This is a common practice in the power banks business and is nothing out of the ordinary. ASUS claims that it has 11 layers of protection between the batteries and the covering, which is substantially more compared to what the competition offers.
