Unlocked and Developer Edition HTC One M8 receiving Android 5.0.1

HTC One M8 - Android 5.0

Mo Versi from HTC has dropped some good news on owners of the unlocked and Developer Edition One M8s by announcing the rollout of the Android 5.0 update for the smartphone. The update was originally expected to arrive sometime ago, but HTC was quick enough to spot a bug with the update and decided to pull the plug subsequently.

Bear in mind that these are Sense 6.0 versions of the One M8, which means that carrier variants of the handset shouldn’t be far away from getting an update. The update pertains to all unlocked and Developer Edition variants of the smartphone, so you should probably have the update by now.

You can find the changelog for the update below:

  • Android 5.0 Lollipop update
  • Lock screen and notification: New Lollipop UI style with enhanced privacy features
  • Recent apps: Supporting multiple pages
  • Addition of search function within settings

Have you received the update on your unlocked or developer edition One M8? Let us know in the comments below.
