Samsung to use a touch based fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy S6

Samsung Galaxy S6

Samsung’s Galaxy S5 broke new horizons for the company. One of them being the inclusion of the fingerprint scanner. However, this feature was heavily criticized by users and critics alike for not offering the level of ease that Apple’s Touch ID sensor provides.

It is now believed that Samsung has learnt its lesson and will adopt a touch based fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy S6. Huawei’s Ascend Mate 7 has a similar technology in place, so it won’t be the first time an Android OEM used it.

Samsung’s fingerprint scanning issues were only limited to poor hardware and the software was pretty solid, so the company doesn’t need to change much in that regard. The addition of this new sensor will certainly go a long way in making the Galaxy S6 a success.
