Samsung to launch a circular display smartwatch at the MWC: Reports

Samsung Galaxy S6 CSC

According to reports coming from a reliable Samsung source, the company will finally join the circular display smartwatch bandwagon with a new offering expected to be shown off at this year’s Mobile World Congress in March. The event is scheduled to take place in Barcelona and has traditionally seen the launch of Samsung smartphones and wearables, so it would be the perfect stage for the manufacturer to show off the new goods.

The company’s foray into the round display smartwatch segment was long expected given the sort of traction seen by the LG G Watch R and the Moto 360 over the past few months. It will be interesting to see whether this new wearable from Samsung will be featuring Android Wear or its custom Tizen OS. The latter would mean that it will only be compatible with Galaxy devices, which isn’t exactly good news for smartwatch fans.

What’s your take on a circular display smartwatch from Samsung? Would you be interested in such an offering? Let us know below.
