OnePlus Two will break cover in late 2015: Report

OnePlus One

According to a new report, the OnePlus Two smartphone will not launch until late 2015. The smartphone was originally expected to break cover sometime in mid-2015, right around the time of the predecessor’s launch last year.

So what’s causing the delay? Well, no points for guessing, but it’s the Snapdragon 810 chipset which is reportedly pushing the launch of the device further. Reports have indicated that the chip is facing overheating related concerns, although LG seems to insist that it’s working just fine on the recently unveiled G Flex 2.

We’re not sure how long we might have to wait to see the OnePlus Two, but we’re hoping that Qualcomm will fix the CPU related issues quickly. The OnePlus Two is expected to be using a 2K display along with a flagship level hardware, much like what we saw on the OnePlus One last year. The biggest concern for the company will be to keep up with the demand for its smartphone.

Qualcomm’s new chip is also expected to be used on the Galaxy S6 although Samsung is believed to be unhappy with the CPU issues. The HTC One M9 and perhaps the Sony Xperia Z4 could also be using Qualcomm’s latest chipset.
