LG believed to be working on cellular and webOS based wearables

LG G Watch R - webOS

LG has officially taken over the webOS division from HP, with the company already launching televisions based on the OS. A new report suggests that LG’s love for webOS could spread towards wearables as well with a smartwatch believed to be in the making. Further, the company is also reportedly looking to launch a smartwatch sporting cellular connectivity, much like Samsung’s Gear S wearable. We’ve heard rumors of this device launching on several occasions before.

It will be interesting to see what LG can make of webOS in a smartwatch like device. LG dropped hints of this wearable by putting up a site last year, but was quick to take it down. It seems like the company wants to work on a wearable OS where it has more freedom and control over the features and functioning, which is virtually non existent with Android Wear as Google wants its smartwatch OS to be developed in a certain way. But with webOS, LG will have the liberty to tweak the OS to their liking and offer the best to their fans and customers.
