Recent reports have hinted that HTC could be using decoy units of the One M9 smartphone to restrict the internet from getting an idea about its future flagship. Most of these images that we came across had very familiar design features, barring the back of course. A new revelation however is suggesting that HTC could be looking to make one major design change with the upcoming smartphone – the front logo bar.
If the word around the internet is accurate, the company could do away with the black bar on the front which houses the logo. This bar is located right beneath the display and used to work as a home button before HTC went with onscreen buttons. The logo was still in place with the One M8, serving no real purpose apart from telling the world that it is an HTC phone.
But if HTC is able to ditch this portion altogether, we might see a decrease in overall length, while maintaining the same display size. This could be a massive plus for the customers as the front branding isn’t exactly a crowd favorite. There’s still over a month left until we find out for sure, but we’ll keep our ears peeled for more word on this particular rumor.
