LG G Pad 8.3

Verizon Wireless is now sending out an update to the LG G Pad 8.3 with the firmware version VK81023A. The update will begin rolling out in stages, so don’t panic if you don’t see it on your device yet. The update doesn’t introduce Android 5.0, with the GPe G Pad 8.3 getting the update not too long ago.

Verizon’s update changelog mentions that Redbox Instant on the tablet is not supported and the device power on issues have been fixed. Users will also be able to use 4G LTE data while roaming. The tablet is currently running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, although other variants of the G Pad 8.3 are running Android 4.4 KitKat. There’s still no word on when the Android 5.0 update for the device will begin rolling out, especially for the Verizon variant.

The tablet is pretty capable in terms of hardware, so running the latest version of Android shouldn’t be a problem. Do you own the LG G Pad 8.3? Have you seen this update yet?
