Google has already rolled out the Android 5.0 update for the Nexus 4, while the Nexus 9 tablet was launched with the new OS. A new revelation is now suggesting that due to the lack of proper camera hardware on the two devices, they will not be able to make use of some of the camera features which are available on Android 5.0.
According to Google’s bug tracker, the Nexus 4 and the Nexus 9 will not be able to capture RAW images in the DNG format, possibly due to hardware limitations. It’s understandable for the Nexus 4 to lack this feature since it packs relatively older hardware. The Nexus 9 on the other hand, was the most recent Nexus device to hit the markets and packs a relatively capable camera sensor as well.
The camera limitations will not allow users to get full control of the camera on their device, which is very disappointing for users of these devices. Do you own a Nexus 4 or the Nexus 9? How do you feel about this news?
