HTC unveils the Desire 620 smartphone

HTC Desire 620

Big ticket manufacturers have seen great success with midrange offerings. Take Motorola for example, which has taken global markets by storm with the Moto G. And it seems like HTC is mindful of this particular fact as it has now unveiled its very own midrange offering called the Desire 620. On the design front, the smartphone is very identical to the Desire 820, but packs a smaller display.

The smartphone carries a price tag of €280 ($347) in Europe, which is quite expensive for a midrange offering. HTC has packed in a 5 inch 720p display on the Desire 620 along with an 8-megapixel camera on the back, a 5-megapixel front camera, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage (expandable), a quad core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 SoC, a 2,100 mAh battery and Android 4.4.4 KitKat with no word on the Android 5.0 update as of yet.

The Desire 620 is a significant upgrade over the Desire 610, although we don’t think the pricing will impress prospective buyers, especially when compared with the likes of the Moto G (2014). The smartphone should inevitably make its way to the U.S. through prepaid carriers for a sub $300 price tag.
