While companies like Samsung and Sony are looking to cut down on their midrange offerings in 2015, it seems like HTC isn’t there yet. The company will reportedly launch several new midrange offerings next year. According to the head of HTC North Asia, Jack Tong, there will be several new 4G LTE capable midrange handsets launching next year.
Although he mentioned that the handsets will launch in Asia, he didn’t clarify as to whether the smartphones will make its way elsewhere. But it goes without saying that HTC would be keen to launch 4G budget offerings in key markets like the U.S. where it already sells such devices through carriers like Boost Mobile and MetroPCS.
He also mentioned that the recently launched RE Camera accessory has shown promise and should surpass sales of 20,000 units before the end of 2014. The manufacturer’s prime focus will be the upcoming One M9 or the Hima flagship, which is expected to break cover in March or April. So it will be interesting to see what it has to offer in the midrange segment.
