A new rumor coming from Upleaks has revealed the presence of the HTC A12 handset. This device will apparently feature a midrange hardware, so it won’t catch everybody’s attention at first glance. Among the leaked hardware of this smartphone is a 4.7 inch 720p display, a 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 410 SoC which supports the 64-bit CPU architecture, an 8-megapixel camera on the back, a 1.3-megapixel front camera and a 2,100 mAh battery.
The leak mentions that the smartphone will be running Android 4.4 KitKat by default, but given the timing of its arrival, we won’t be surprised to find Android 5.0 Lollipop running on the handset.
The smartphone will reportedly break cover in the U.S. in February through all four major carriers, which is a good sign and shows HTC’s willingness to enter the midrange market. The HTC A12 should also be available in other global markets, although there’s no word on which regions will get it.
Expect an announcement to take place sometime around January or February for this new midranger from HTC.
